Here are the answers to some questions that were asked in David Bradburn's Classroom Suite 4 Literacy Tools lab.

Question 1 - How do I prevent my students from printing all 20 pages of the Journal Writing activity?

Adding a Print Page Button to Classroom Suite Writing Activities

1. Open one of the writing activities, such as one of the journals.

2. Go to Edit from the top menu, scroll down and select Custom Toolbars and Buttons.

3. Select Create Toolbar, in the top left corner.

4. This will open a Create Toolbar window. Type in the toolbar name “Print”, select Create A New Button and click OK.

5. This opens the Button Properties window. Type “Print” beside Button Name.

6. Click on the Picture Library icon and find a picture for “print”.

7. Click on the Actions button. Delete the action “Insert Picture or Name” by selecting the Delete button on the right.

8. Under Available actions on the left, type in Print Page. Click on Add Action>>.

9. If you want both the word “Print” and the picture showing on the button, click on Button Appearance. Select Picture and Name. Click OK to close the window.

10. Click the Done button in the top right-hand corner.

You should now see a Print Button on your writing activity. This button will only print the current page the student is on.

Question 2 - Is there a way to hear the words in the word prediction before the student selects the words?

Hearing the Word Prediction Words Before Selecting Them

1. Go to Teacher Options.

2. Select the student for whom you want this feature.

3. Select Edit User Preferences.

4. Select Use Talking Tooltips. Click OK to close the window.

When the student logs in and uses Word Prediction, he/she can hover over the words first to hear what they are.

Question 3 - Where can I get advanced authoring training for Classroom Suite?
