Here are the directions for the process we're using to identify the students who are struggling with phonemic awareness in K-2. 

 

More explicit directions for administering the Whole-to-Part assessment using the Jerry Johns Basic Reading Inventory.

 

An article I wrote that appeared in the ASHA Leader regarding comprehension instruction for children who use AAC.  This would provide some additional information regarding the approach to comprehension instruction I described. 

 

Key Word Decoding. A description of a particular approach to decoding instruction for students who are struggling to learn to decode at the first grade level because they are nonspeaking and/or have not been successful with synthetic approaches to phonics instruction.
